Discover west coast & Blue Room with Powerboat

A beach-hopping experience you will not forget! The west coast tour is our most popular tour because it is diverse and there is so much to see/explore. Guests that have been on the Klein Curacao and the beach hopping westcoast tour prefer the latter because:

– More snorkel opportunities
– More variety in surroundings
– Possibility of having lunch on shore rather than having to bring your own

We depart at 10 am from the Fishermen’s Pier at the Caracasbaaiweg. From there we will pass by Curacao’s hotspots: Jan Thiel Beach, Mambo Beach, Punda, the Hilton Hotel, Boca Sami. Then the most beautiful part begins: the beaches! Can you guess which beach we pass by? You will discover Banda Bou (the local way of saying west coast) from the water and the beach-hopping tour is really a unique experience with so much fun!

Because our tours are small-scale, there is room for personal wishes. At Powerboat Caribbean we take pride in making the tour an individual experience rather than a tourist one. We have several hotspots where we go by for sure:

Blue Room

One of our stops is the ‘Blue Room’, famous for the blue light that shines into the cave. It is a beautiful spot for snorkeling and diving and a unique experience in Curacao. Our crew will go with you in the cave to guide you and show you the way. Please listen closely to the instructions that he/she gives as you might be asked to dive and swim in the cave. This depends on the sea level, sometimes you can swim in without any problems but sometimes the sea requires you to dive and swim 3 feet under water.

Playa Grandi or Piskado: Turtle Beach

Another very beautiful stop is Playa Piskado where many turtles can be spotted. They are attracted by the fish remains that fishers throw in the water when they are done cleaning their catch. If you want to see turtles in Curacao this is a place where you have almost 100 % guarantee that you will see them! Please do not touch the turtles and give them space to come up for air. Sea turtles are a beautiful part of the underwater life and we would like to leave them alone as much as we can.

Beaches! So many beaches!

Curacao has approximately 38 beaches and the most beautiful ones are found at the west coast. Curacao Travelguide wrote a nice article about this which you can read here. From secluded beaches hardly accessible by car to more commercial beaches with toilets and bars, there is always a beach that has what you need! The captains of our boats are local gems and will give you tips on how to experience the island in a local way and you can ask them any questions you have about the island.

Playa Lagun: Lunch spot and amazing for snorkeling

Playa Lagun is where we are headed for lunch, relaxing and snorkeling. You can bring your own food but we also offer the opportunity to have lunch at La Bahia restaurant, located at Playa Lagun. We will beach the boat and walk upstairs for a delicious, Caribbean lunch, this is for own account. For snorkel lovers Playa Lagun is a popular beach because it has a beautiful underwater life. Once everybody is ready to go we will continue our way down the beaches and we can stop wherever you as a group want. Popular beaches are San Juan and Daaibooi. On our way back we pass by the city center to watch the floating Pontoon Bridge and our last stop is the Santa Barbara resort where you can swim and relax for a bit. We will arrive back at the Fishermen’s Pier around 5 pm.

West coast beach hopping price: $ 115 / NAF 200 per person

Price includes free use of snorkel sets and drinks: softdrinks, beer, water. We have life vests and first-aid on board. Recommended to bring:

  • Towel
  • Sunscreen: minimum SPF 50
  • Cash money for the tour (or if you booked online for gratuities if desired)
  • Dry clothes
  • Sunglasses (come in handy when you get a splash of water in the boat)
  • Hat/cap

Powerboat Caribbean retains the right to cancel the trips for whatever reason. We would like to inform you about that beforehand because the sea can be very rough and unpredictable and we sometimes have storms which would make being on the sea very unpleasant.
