The Best Activities on Curaçao – Selected by the Powerboat Team!

Whether it’s your first time on Curaçao or you already know the island, there’s always something new to experience. We’ve put together a list of eight awesome activities that we’ve personally tested and highly recommend.

1. Jet skiing with ChiChi Jetski

Blasting across the water on a high-speed jet ski? You can wake us up for that any time! 😉 With their friendly guides, you’ll have an unforgettable adventure on both the open sea and Curaçao’s inland waters. The jet skis are modern and well-maintained, so no hassle with broken equipment or wasted time. From the water, you’ll see the island from a whole new perspective, and with the speed of the Sea-Doo jet ski, this is truly an amazing experience.

Their office and departure point are near Mambo Beach, making it a perfect activity for those staying at hotels like Bon Bini Resort, Kontiki Beach Resort, Lions Dive & Beach Resort, Dolphin Suites, Sunscape, or The Beach House.

For bookings and reservations: Visit the ChiChi Jetski website: Jetski Rental in Curaçao | Chichi Jetski Tours

2. E-scooter tour with Eco Cruise Curaçao

For a great mix of land, sea and air activities, Eco Cruise Curaçao is the perfect choice for the land part of your adventure. On an electric scooter, you’ll explore a large part of the island’s east side. Along the way, you’ll spot iguanas, lizards and rugged nature while stopping at stunning viewpoints. The professional guide will share fascinating insights about Curaçao’s culture and the history of the places you visit, such as Tugboat Beach, Fort Beekenburg and Director’s Bay.

Fun for all ages! Our team tried this tour and loved it—it’s a great experience that doesn’t take up your whole day (1.5 hours). If you’re staying in Jan Thiel at places like Morena Resort, Chogogo, Papagayo or Livingstone, this location is within walking distance.

3. Skydiving with Skydive Curaçao

This is the ultimate experience for adrenaline lovers who want to step out of their comfort zone. We probably don’t need to explain what it’s like—because it’s pretty simple: you jump out of a plane with a parachute, haha! With professional guidance, you’ll make a tandem jump, starting with a thrilling free fall before the parachute opens after about 30 seconds.

The expert instructors (Tito, Jorge, Bruno, Yeli, and Manfre) make this experience not only incredible but also completely safe. Our daredevil Tamara was the only one on our team brave enough to take the plunge, and in her words: "Absolutely insane, fantastic! Can I go again??" The rest of the team isn’t quite ready for it (yet) 😉.

The flight from Hato Airport to the jump location is already amazing—you’ll get a breathtaking aerial view of the island, and on a clear day, you can even see Bonaire! Of course, when the moment comes, the nerves kick in: first, you put one leg out, then the other… and then there’s no turning back! Once you land, the adrenaline is still pumping through your veins.

4. Hofi Mango: nature and culture

Stunning nature combined with history—our Powerboat team loved this activity! We visited Hofi Mango, located in the western part of the island. The park was founded by the well-known Curaçaoan Jandino Asporaat. While many know him from films, on the island, he’s especially respected for his dedication to the local community and Curaçao itself.

The beautiful mango trees, the high observation tower, the symbolic artwork "Man di Dios" (Hands of God), the singing birds, and the peaceful atmosphere… It truly felt magical. The walk through the park takes about an hour and is suitable for all ages. Along the way, you’ll pass the old sugar factory where rum used to be made. There are countless flowers, trees, and cacti to admire, and the sound of birds is everywhere.

Take your time to snap some great photos, and after the walk, enjoy a delicious lunch at Kultura Kòrsou, the on-site restaurant serving amazing local dishes. Our favorites? Tamarind juice, pumpkin pancakes (repa di pampuna), the Hofi Mango salad (made with mangoes from their own plantation), and cod balls with mango fried rice. Everything was fresh, and eating surrounded by nature made it even better.

The park is open daily from 8 AM – 5 PM.

5. Horseback riding at Criadero Babetti

We’re used to 400, 600, or even 900 horsepower behind the boat, but riding a real horse is a completely different experience. We took a beautiful tour through Curaçao’s stunning nature, heading towards Sint Joris Bay, where kite surfers were showing off their skills. Each horse has its own personality, which was amazing to see. You can instantly tell if a horse is full of energy or has a calmer nature.

If you’re up for it, you can go faster, but if you’d rather take it slow and enjoy the ride, that’s totally fine too. Surrounded by birds, feeling the wind and sun on your face, you really connect with the horse—at least, that’s how we experienced it. No prior riding experience is needed for this tour.

We booked this experience with Criadero Babetti, but you can also check out Chayen Clement.

6. Paint your own ChiChi at Serena’s Art Factory

None of us are great painters… but we gave it our best shot, and the results were amazing! At Serena’s Art Factory, you can paint your own local ChiChi figure however you like and take it home as a unique souvenir.

ChiChi is an important part of Curaçao’s culture. The word means "big sister" in Papiamentu and represents a strong, proud woman—traditionally the eldest sister in the family, who was expected to help the mother with household tasks. The ChiChi has open arms, symbolizing warmth and kindness. She plays a key role in the family, taking care of her younger siblings.

After a short introduction, you get to work with a variety of vibrant colors. You can draw inspiration from the many ChiChi figures displayed in the shop and throughout the workshop area, available in different sizes.

For more information and to book your creative workshop: Visit the website Chichi® | Home of the Chichi's - Curaçao.

7. Abseiling from the Queen Juliana Bridge

Not as extreme as skydiving, but abseiling is definitely an adrenaline-pumping experience that pushes you out of your comfort zone. Under the guidance of Albert Schoop, you can take on this adventure either solo or in a group. After receiving instructions at the base of the bridge, it’s time for the most dangerous part—crossing the road at the top of the Juliana Bridge 😉.

Once on the other side, you climb into the bridge and walk towards the descent point. Again, only Tamara from our team dared to take on this challenge—the rest of us found it too scary! According to her, the scariest moment was when you have to jump and let yourself hang. Someone at the bottom secures your rope, and during the descent, you even have the option to go upside down (they only tell you that once, of course!).

As you make your way down, you get an incredible view of the Handelskade and Otrobanda. It was an amazing experience, and if you want to step out of your comfort zone, this is a must!

For more info and bookings: Send Albert a WhatsApp at +59995207799 or +59996681118.

If you'd rather abseil from a mountain (less intense than the bridge), you can book an exciting tour with RockClimbing Curaçao.

8. Off-road buggy tour with Eric’s ATV

To truly experience Curaçao, exploring the island off-road in a buggy is an absolute must. You’ll see stunning sights, from towering cacti to exotic birds and dramatic waves crashing along the coastline. With the buggy, you’ll race over rugged paths, and the fun guidance from Eric’s ATV makes the experience even better.

If it has rained a lot, the adventure gets even wilder with mud puddles and water crossings. You can rent a buggy for two people or drive solo. It’s an amazing way to see Curaçao from a completely different perspective!
